Many of us ARE NOT on the Obama Train

All over the news today political pundits and newscasters are trying to convince us that last night was a GREAT NIGHT for America, a great night for the Democratic Party, and a great moment for both Senator Obama and the black community...I disagree. What we saw last night, what we saw over the past weekend was Obama handed the nomination through Presidential Election Affirmative Action.

Some may find this question offensive, but I am curious here as a average blue collar American white male, when is enough enough in the name of affirmative action, when do we WHITE FOLKS get back to a point where we are playing on a level playing field? I'm 52 years old, and simply stated, I am tired of PAYING THE PRICE for equality.

I have not decided at this point if I will vote for Senator McCain as a protest vote come this fall. What I have decided, is that I WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA, will not support this charade...I think many more Democrats will make the same decision, especially if Senator Clinton is not given the Vice Presidential slot.

Prejudiced Reverse Racism Black Vote, and Good Old Boys Club Coraling Hilary

I am not one to pull my punches...the PREJUDICED REVERSE RACISM Black Vote coupled with the Good Old Boy Blue Dog Democratic Men's Club opinion that a woman will not be elected president sees the two groups closing ranks, with the press in cahoots, to hand the Democratic nod to Senator Obama. The talking heads chirp up like newly born acolytes of the dark lord about how us blue collar, under educated middle class WHITE BOYS will fall in line come fall, our women following our lead, holding our noses as we vote Democrat, vote for a corrupt, dishonest, elitist black man for President. You idiots do not know us very well.

Here is a clue to those pundits, to the Super Delegates, to the Democratic Party...we will throw your party to the curb, we will tell Obama to GO FUCK HIMSELF, and either A) not vote, or B) just out of spite vote for John McCain. We are not going to be shepparded back into the tent after a good scolding on party loyalty.

Now, a word to Hillary Clinton...it is obvious to anyone that has watched the media that you have NOT BEEN GIVEN a fair shake, the slant on every story, the tone of the conversation tilted in favor of Obama. You owe the PARTY nothing, and I would encourage you to take a SCORCHED EARTH policy between now, and the Convention in August. If you, Bill or your operatives have dirt on Obama, on his wife, on a Super Delegate, BRING IT OUT, take down every male chauvinistic bastard you can, spare no expense, launch every weapon. Take no prisoners, and if possible DESTROY OBAMA's political career in the process, as the press has refused to deal honestly with his dirt, and we both know the Republicans will have a hay day with him in the fall, so we might as well do the job for them.

To Mr Dean...Michigan and Florida must count, and if you seat them as THEY VOTED, this is no where near a finished horse race. Any other solution you and your ass monkeys come up with intending on giving Obama the nod by ignoring the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE in these two states will FOREVER split the party, and in fact I would encourage Hilary Clinton to run as an independent this fall if she is not the party's nominee. You need to be aware Mr. Dean, that people like me are loading up our You Tube attack videos, sharpening up our Anti Obama blogs....you will not have to worry about what the Republicans will do to Obama, as we TRUE BLUE DEMOCRATS will take him down ourselves, gleefully load up attack ad after attack ad to go after the lying son of a bitch, because that is what Democracy is about. Democracy is not about allowing a reverse racism black vote negating commonsense. Democracy is not about the Good Old Rich Boys club throwing the nomination to Obama because they cannot stomach the thought of a woman in the White House.

Another Reason To Skip 2008 Beijing Olympics

It is being very odd that American media is staying away from any negative news on China's Flame of Shame Torch Relay, avoiding discussing the crack down on Tibetans, the abuses of human rights all over China as their military tightens their grip on the citizens in the build up to the Beijing Olympics. George Bush (man without a clue) wants to act as if sports are sports, and politics are politics, and never the twain shall meet. Nothing could be futher from the truth, the world could shame China in what they are hoping is their moment of glory on the world stage by simply boycotting the Olympics...for various reasons, world leaders are trying to duck the issue. Well, if you will not stay away from the Olympics, how about staying away from China for your health? Is being in China for the Olympic's worth a bad case of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease? Are you willing to risk your life for a trip to the Olympics in a country known for human rights abuses? For Tibet, and for your health just SAY NO to Beijing Olympics.

Northern Indiana STEALING Primary For Obama?

First, I am in day three of not smoking, and it is very hard not smoking while watching the primary results on CNN. Something is NOT RIGHT in Indiana, and I smell a serious SKUNK in Northern Indiana. All this drama sees me having a SERIOUS nicotine fit here.

For some odd reason, the county adjoining Chicago, the most likely county to support Obama held off any reporting for HOURS, and now the results are racing in and it would appear he is going to potentially GET THE VOTES TO STEAL INDIANA...if that happens, there had best be a very serious investigation openned instantly. Simply stated, seems that Obama's connections to Rezco, and through Rezco to the Chicago political machine and the MOB is potentially DELIVERING the state of Indiana to Obama via voter manipulation.

On other election news...the Super Delegates need to listen to those voters who are like me. The political pundits keep saying the party will kiss, make up and support Barack Obama, that the rumors of party abandonment is JUST NOT SO...I am a very liberal boomer. If Barack Obama is the Democratic Party nominee, I will either A) not vote, or B) out of retaliation vote for John McCain.

UPDATES...The spinners are out in force trying to get Hillary Clinton to leave the race. Here is my problem with all this...Obama is getting over 90 percent of the black vote, which tells me that blacks are voting for Obama because he is BLACK, rather than because he is the best candidate. If the Black Vote were breaking at even 70/30 in Obama's favor Hillary would be our nominee. I will not support the party if we are having a Black President STUFFED DOWN OUR THROATS, would rather vote for John McCain rather than let Black America force us to accept a Black President because they decided they would vote as a block regardless of who is the best qualified for the office.

A Writing Challenge-Spring Break

As I grow older, as my own mortality becomes clearer with each passing day, I find myself turning more and more to the written word, perhaps hoping to leave something of myself behind when I pass to the great beyond. One of the places where I write is http://www.gather.com/ entering various small writing contests held there. One of the groups I belong to, one of the contests I like to enter into is called the first line challenge. They give you the first line, and you run with it, create a story from their start. I recently entered one of these contests where the first line was, "Once upon a time..." Below is my story based on the challenge. I hope you enjoy the read.

Spring Break

Once upon a time I believed in fairy tales, thought I would grow up, find my prince and live happily ever after. Much like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, that belief has vanished into the mists, along with the naïve thought that life is fair. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitter, life is what it is, and we all must play the cards we are dealt, though at times I wish I could have a different hand.

It's raining today, the droplets sliding down the old weathered panes of the window as I stare out at the street below. There is a Starbucks on the corner, people dashing in as their umbrellas get caught in the door, and the drug store in the middle of the block seems busy as it always is. I watch, journal my thoughts as I ponder a reality I cannot change, wonder at what might have been.

Suppose I should explain my isolated life, the loneliness that comes from being a prisoner in my own little world, only my cat Scruffy to keep me company except on weekends when Mom and Dad come by to say hello...that is not exactly true, I do have my nurse, and twice a week an old German woman comes in to tidy my apartment, change the sheets and take care of any shopping I need done, but I don't count them, resent them on days when everything becomes to much.

Two years ago, a second year law student at NYU I was going home for spring break, my boyfriend and I planning on letting our parents know of our recent engagement. Our old Subaru was packed with six pillow cases of laundry, our laptops, couple of pillows and a cooler full of goodies to eat along the way. Rob had carefully mapped out our schedule; we would leave right after my evening class and drive through the night arriving early the next day. Right on schedule he arrived on campus just in time to pick me up. With a quick kiss we were back in the car and on our way, anxious to get on the road.

As we left campus I gave Mom a quick call on my cell phone, letting her know our trip home had begun. I was ringing Rob's sister as we approached the green light, and that is the last real memory I have of the moment that forever changed my life, perhaps in some ways stealing it away from me.

It was a month before I came out of my coma, opening my eyes to see Dad sitting in a chair beside my hospital bed, his hand clutching mine.

"Where am I?"

"Your in Mount Sinai Hospital Cathy, everything is going to be fine."

"Where's Rob, is he OK?"

Dad did not speak, tears welling up in his eyes.

I heard Mom speak up, "We're sorry sweetheart, he didn't make it, was killed instantly in the crash."

It was at that moment as I tried to sit up in shock that I realized I could not move, was paralyzed from the waist down.

My name is Cathy, I am a paraplegic because someone thought they could drink and drive. My life is not over, but it has been forever changed. I hope in sharing this story, in sharing my own pain that someone will think twice before they believe they too can drink and get behind the wheel of a car.

Introductions and Thoughts

Watching Senator Obama (who I do not trust, nor will I vote for) speak in North Carolina as I create this blog, carve out yet another space where I can reside on the Internet Highway. Like millions of others who have traveled life in close proximity to my own time line, I am a somewhat saddened and distrustful 50 something boomer wondering where America is going, and wishing I could cash in my chips and move some place to ride out the storm. We as a nation are in trouble, and the America of today is not the America I grew up loving and respecting. We seem to have lost our way, and sadly not sure we have the time required as a nation to find our way back again.

This blog will be a journal, it will be a free thinking space where you might find the hottest news story of the day, perhaps my own political rantings about a good nation gone bad. You might find a recipe for Dutch Apple Pie, a suggestion for a good Merlot, maybe some of my prose, drabbles and short stories. Simply stated, Boomerville Journal News is a online small town paper of sorts where the editor has the freedom to talk about, report about anything and everything knowing his loyal readers will always come back for more. To often I have launched themed blogs, boxed myself and my own creativity in by giving borders and limits to my thought, and those narrow contraints have seen me grow bored, abandoning project after project as I looked for more space, or some place that let me express the all of who I as a boomer am...it is my hope that this space free of limits and contraints, this place where no topic is taboo will give a permanent home to my words.
